berid
Mail system. Own SMTP server for inbound mail, Dovecot for storage and IMAP, Postfix for outbound delivery, an Express control plane and a React web client.
Three repositories, one per deployment unit: berid-smtp, berid-api, berid-web.
- Inbound SMTP on 25, 465 and 587, in Node on smtp-server; delivery to the mailbox over LMTP to Dovecot, which keeps Maildir on disk and serves IMAP.
- Outbound mail through Postfix on localhost; DKIM signed by the sender.
- The control plane manages mailboxes, domains (ownership by DNS TXT, delegated admins), quotas, aliases and export; sign-in through identity-service.
- 589 unit and contract tests; 24 run on Postgres 18 and 28 on Dovecot 2.4. The contract between the parts is written first and tested at the boundary.
